Time and musicals and not much else

Posted at 13:21 under MUSIC, MUSICAL, THOUGHTS, DEMOCRACY

Time flies. It's been 6 months since I posted anything here, and it's mostly due to the reason I haven't had time to create much of interest to post.

However, yesterday I had a very promising meeting with a British actor and writer who is very interested in being the bookwriter for my Japan-themed musical. He has already come up with some great ideas, and we really seem to be on the same page.

The musical has an important subject that we both are passionate telling the world about, so you can expect more updates on this later this summer. We're both busy with other things, but hopefully some time will open up to finally get this musical off the ground.

I'm also constantly writing songs for the weekly BML songwriting workshop, and that takes most of my spare time, not leaving a single moment to think of my own projects or musicals. We will have the whole month of August off this workshop, so that will hopefully be a blessed time for me to get some of my own writing done.

I am very happy with my new vegan lifestyle. It's over 8 months now, and I feel healthier than ever. Sure, I was a vegetarian for 20 years, so it was an easy transition.

I guess you could call me a Vegan Abolitionist.

Almost 10 years ago, a clairvoyant told me I lived a previous life in Brazil and that I was killed while I was fighting for the abolition of slavery.

So I guess it all makes sense. My love for human and animal rights, the country and culture of Brazil, the language, the music. It was all already in me.

Lots of love.

New single

Posted at 23:38 under MUSIC, THOUGHTS, DEMOCRACY

My new single is now available on iTunes and Spotify!

Det kunde lika gärna varit vi is a samba-reggae song in Swedish, and the title means "It could just as well have been us" and is written in the shadow of the growing Pan-European racism, nationalism, hate and violence.

Spotify:

iTunes:
http://itunes.apple.com/album/det-kunde ... d915956730

We have elections for the Swedish government next Sunday. This song is a call for people to have empathy with immigrant refugees coming from war and Eastern-European beggars coming from discrimination and racism in their own countries. Many of them are roma (so-called gypsies) and seeing the cold-hearted reaction of many Swedes to criminalize begging to get rid of them, is scary and is reminding of the 1930's Europe where nazism swept through countries in trouble caused by capitalism and the bubble economy.

Now, we're seeing the same thing again. People look for a scapegoat. Capitalism is the reason. Not the immigrants or the beggars in the streets.

"It could just as well have been been me
It could just as well have been been us
And all you'd wish for if you end up there one day
is a dash of empathy"

(English translation of the chorus)

Enjoy it and Share the love! <3

Hiba Tawaji - Al Rabih Al Arabi

Posted at 17:56 under MUSIC, MUSICAL, OTHERS, DEMOCRACY

Hiba Tawaji is an awesome singer from Lebanon. Check this new song out. It's amazing - her voice, the song itself, and the haunting music video.

It's a masterpiece. The best song I have heard for a very long time.

Enough with hate and genocide now.

Seriously.

We must stop thinking in terms of "us" and "them".

Or it will never stop.

Please sign this petition.

Kaitlyn Hunt is prosecuted in Florida for having a 3-years-younger girlfriend. I'm not the only one who suspects that this would not happen if one of them were male.

Kaitlyn's girlfriend's parents are against their same-sex relationship, and thus went to the police. Now, she faces years in prison - or - two years in house arrest, if she chooses.

Please sign this petition to drop the charges now.
Stop this madness. Love is not a crime.

On so-called "foreigners"

Posted at 04:50 under OTHERS, THOUGHTS, DEMOCRACY

Being a 'long-nose' is not easy anywhere, my friend Mikael Wiehe wrote to me last year regarding being a foreigner. It doesn't matter which country you go. As long as you look different or have a strange-sounding name the police, the customs officers, etc, etc, etc, will treat you with suspicion.

In Sweden, the not-so-intelligent Minister of Justice Beatrice Ask supports the police's harassment of foreign-looking people (in their search for "paperless immigrants"), and yesterday, Swedish author Jonas Hassen Khemiri wrote an open letter to her in DN, Sweden's biggest daily newspaper.

Within one day (!) it was DN's most shared article on the web ever.

Please read this. It may open your eyes to the situation of foreigners in your own country, wherever you live. Because it's the same everywhere. It's not just about the police. It's rooted in our collective consciousness, the "foreigner", the "stranger", the "weirdo", the "strange name", the "big nose", etc.

The letter google-translated into English

It's FANTASTIC.

And unfortunately very very true.

John Pilger

Posted at 15:28 under THOUGHTS, DEMOCRACY

JOHN PILGER is an amazing Australian journalist, and his documentaries are wonderful proof of his passion to show a truth that we many times are not supposed to know about, a truth which our governments don't want us to know.

With the internet, people all over the world have more access to information than ever before in history, and the fact that many of John's documentaries are available on youtube is wonderful news for all of us who long to hear the truth.

Read more about him here:

or on his website;

Here are two of his documentaries (in English, no subtitles).

Please watch them. The awakened awareness may change your life. At the very least, it will open your eyes.

The New Rulers of the World -
Showing the secrets behind globalization, and the growing gap between rich and poor.

War by other means -
Showing how the lifestyle of us in the rich countries is actually paid for by the poor countries.

Happy New Year!

Posted at 15:21 under THOUGHTS, DEMOCRACY

HAPPY
NEW
YEAR!

I wish for 2013 to be a year where we all learn to accept eachother on a true and deep level.

Truly and deeply.

Many of us (not me, but maybe you?) were really worried that the world would end on December 21, because of the Maya indians' calendar.

I just feel, ok, can we go on now? Can we continue with the important things? We're 7 billion (7,000,000,000) people in this world. A child dies every second because of lack of clean water or medicine, and we argue about which day the world will end.

Grow up.

There is a real problem here, because so many of us escape from thinking and caring about the really important things, such as green energy, food for everyone, clean water, education for everyone - including girls in poor countries. It's all connected. We're all connected. Will 2013 be the year when we all understand that?

I hope so.

Here's for a new world.

It starts with me and you.

Happy New Year!

Open letter to my friends in Japan

Posted at 04:01 under MUSIC, JAPAN, OTHERS, THOUGHTS, DEMOCRACY

http://nation.time.com/2012/12/13/elect ... -honestly/

To my friends in Japan:

Sunday's election is very important. This election can change the constitution of Japan (Peaceful since the bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki) and even wars with China or North Korea if people really vote for ABE.

* Prime minister NODA will lose his job, because opposite of the people's wish, he wants Nuclear Power.

* Expected new Prime minister ABE will boost the army and spend more public money on the army, weapons & aggresive foreign policies ("war"). Shouldn't public money go to rebuilding the country after the tsunami or improving schools? ABE also wants to put Japanese citizens to live/work on the disputed "Senkaku" islands, and you can only guess China's response. Several western countries have expressed worries about him from an international peace point of view.

* And nationalist canditate ISHIHARA, 80-years-old, wants Japan to test Nuclear weapons. Doesn't he remember the bombs?

* There are many small candidates as well. PLEASE check what they want, even though there's an accepted policy in Japan for politicians to lie about everything and suddenly change opinion.

Follow your heart. This election is Very Important.

Sincerely,
Johan Christher Schtz

Johan Persson & Martin Schibbye

Posted at 15:25 under OTHERS, THOUGHTS, DEMOCRACY

Swedish journalists Johan Persson & Martin Schibbye were found "guilty of supporting terrorism" by an Ethiopian court yesterday.

It's awful.

They entered the country illegally on an assignment for Filter Magazine, to dig for the truth about the Swedish oil company Lundin Oil (now Lundin Petroleum), which previously had Swedish foreign minister Carl Bildt as a board member. Bildt has refused to talk about the issue all the time, obviously covering up his dark, oilstained secrets.

Lundin Oil has been accused for forcefully relocating thousands of people in Ethiopia to be able to get their hands on the oil. People may have been killed during these "relocations".

Finally, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said they were innocent and should be freed. Bildt just says his job is to support the decision of the prisoners and their families.

English (BBC):
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-16283332

Swedish (SVD):
http://www.svd.se/kultur/litteratur/rat ... 725447.svd

Johan Persson & Martin Schibbye may face between 11-18 years in Ethiopian prison.

I guess it's time for Bildt to tell the truth for once.

And after that, it's time for Sweden to get a government who cares about Free speech and not only about covering up their ministers dirty past.

Just stop letting greed show your way. How far does it have to go?

New blog

Posted at 02:07 under OTHERS, THOUGHTS, DEMOCRACY

to give room for my thoughts on Democracy and Society, i've started a new blog at
http://democracyrevolution.wordpress.com

i'll continue to write here about things concerning me, my music, my thoughts in general, etc.

however, i feel that the time is ripe for supporting a change in our society. the transit needs to be started now, before we run out of oil or clean fresh-water.

we can do anything together.

today we DO NOT have a true democracy, i'd say ANYWHERE. i advocate creating a new, internet-based DIrect Democracy, where we no longer need full-time politicians in parliaments.

and where the votes can no longer be SOLD to the company with the strongest lobbyists.

our system of Representative Democracy is outdated. it was introduced as it became physically impossible for citizens to join the voting in the Townhall on a specific day each week, or month.

to vote once every 4 years is NOT DEMOCRATIC.

especially when 'our' politicians don't follow our wish.

the system we have today is conflict-CREATING, it supports conflicts for the sake of sales or export or short-term profits, and from the following inequality between individuals or countries or peoples rise conflicts, terror and war.

with an internet-based direct democracy, we can all become more involved in OUR OWN WORLD.

our greed is making the world collapse.

we can stop that from happening but it's necessary that we do it together.

peace!
